Gareth Jones, Finance Manager – Cannaray
"Mallory Partners placed me in my current job and, having experienced being a candidate with them, I’m now using them to recruit for key roles in the business.
When they approached me about the role, I dealt mostly with Jeremy and he was very professional from the outset. He’s clearly used to dealing with senior people and operates to very high quality standards. Mallory Partners are very well connected in their key markets and have strong relationships they can leverage.
I do think Mallory Partners are particularly good at the pastoral care aspects of recruitment. They worked hard to make sure the role was right for me, rather than just seeking to place me and earn their fee. Importantly, I feel it is their policy to treat all candidates with equal respect and to act as a positive advocate for the potential employer, whereas some recruiters tend to either discard or favour certain candidates as they go through the process. Being a good ambassador for the employer is really important to me and is one of the reasons Mallory Partners are now recruiting to help me build my team.
The process I went through was a combination of face-to-face and telephone interviews but, now we’re working together to recruit for my team, it’s all being done virtually because of the current circumstances. Virtual recruitment involves a lot more trust, requiring recruiters to be very good at screening candidates - and I think Mallory Partners are. They are recruiting for some slightly less senior roles than they might normally do, but have brought the same approach and quality standards as if they were recruiting for c-suite executives. It’s really good having them on board. They are responsive, professional and easy to deal with and they represent you well.
