"Martin got in touch with me via LinkedIn. Although I wasn’t actively looking, his approach accelerated my thinking. The impression I got from Martin and Mallory Partners, straightaway, was that they had strong relationships and a good understanding of PE backed businesses - particularly with Node4 - and these were clearly built over a long time. Despite the relative uniqueness of my role, they clearly understood what kind of experience and approach Node4 were looking for.

We had a short half-hour phone call - and then I had a longer session with Ed Proctor, where we discussed what I was looking to achieve from a move and my potential cultural fit with Node 4. It was a quick process, four interviews in total - with the CEO, the private equity backers and the chair. Martin was really good throughout. Martin works with real energy and clearly knows his stuff. He followed up with me after every interview and I appreciated his counsel and availability to discuss the process throughout, working hard to help get the deal across the line.

For me Mallory Partners are different to other firms because of the obvious depth of their relationships with their clients. I really felt they understood and could articulate what it was that would make this role right for me. Ultimately, because it’s a relatively niche role, I didn’t need some of the things that perhaps you would normally look for in a recruitment process. There was no formal job description for example – but I didn‘t need or want one, I know and understand what’s required and that, ultimately, it comes down to the right fit."
